Are you really READY for the BIG-TIME?
I was feeling good!|
In fact, I was feeling GREAT! Ready to play, feeling refreshed, full of energy, and a lot more confidence.
During rehab, I had chance to work out quite a bit, put on some weight and regain lost muscle.
My uniform (Armor) seemed to fit a lot better this year, but was still awkward because it still felt like it was bit too large yet.
At least I was strong enough to hold my Sword high enough to keep it from dragging across the field.
I was sure this season was going to be a good year. At least, it started out good. We won every game straight until mid-season.
We had an away game with the… Wolverines… AGAIN!
The same game, same smack talk, same quarterback and the same coach. Now THERE’s a surprise (nothing new under the sun).
However, there was something different about the team. They had new players and new tactics.
Their coach must have re-vamped the team during the off-season.
Out I went onto the field, same as last season.
Coach was my best cheerleader. He really BELIEVED in me.
He would tell me I had more talent than anyone else on the entire team.
I really did not want to disappoint Him.
So I had rehearsed all the plays in my mind (that I could remember, He has more plays than the ocean has sand).
I played very well through the first half. Then the 3rd quarter came around and we went out to do battle. We were on “offense”, and they were playing “defense”.
By now, the game was getting pretty ugly. The Wolverines had been penalized 6 times for 90 yards for “un-sportsman-like conduct”.
I could overhear the quarterback screaming during the huddle: I had to turn off my ears.
He was flashing coded messages back and forth with their coach.
They came back to the line SEETHING with anger and hatred.
JUST as I hiked the ball, a 12th man had run onto the field for their defense. THAT! was the last thing I remember about THAT game…(Proverbs 24:16).
May the Lord Bless "ALL" who are able to receive this message.
